Dan getting ready to head up the trail to Pear Lake from the Allenspark Trailhead.
Kathie wearing her fanny pack and camera, with Dan's backpack on the ground.
The Allenspark trail head is outside of RMNP, but the entrance to RMNP is right past Dan. We got a late start - didn't start heading up the trail until about 7:20am.
At the top of the middle tree is a bird.
There is the bird.
The first part of the trail was nice and wide and soft.
It was dark in the woods, but bright and sunny above.
Elk prints?
Bear print?
More elk prints.

Mount Meeker
Mount Meeker zoomed in
The trail winding thru the trees
Mount Meeker again
The Boulder-Grand Pass that Dan and Kurt hiked. They crossed from right to left at the top of that wide snowfield, then went up the crevace to the right of the left most triangle of snow.
Mount Meeker, with a bit of Longs Peak showing behind it, Pagoda Mountain and Chief's Head Peak.
See in the middle, the snowfield and pass between the trees? That the one Dan and Kurt hiked. Next is the zoomed in picture.
The zoomed in view of the previous picture - this is Boulder-Grand Pass.
Going thru the same burn area as Kathie went thru the last time on the way to Bluebird Lake.
A nice meandering trail thru the woods.
Back into the burn area.
Yup, Bear skat.
A lone burned tree.
Yup, more Bear skat. We had a bear bell. This was not a trail that was well traveled by humans.
Going back into the burn area.
Mount Meeker, with a bit of Longs Peak showing behind it, Pagoda Mountain and Chief's Head Peak, then Alice Peak?
cute tree with a shining string of a spider's web
We think that's Spanish Beard hanging off the tree.
More Spanish Beard
Two trees that like each other.
The tops of the two trees that like each other.
I know Dan is blury - but I wanted a picture of the bridge.
A very steep hill going down to Finch Lake. Trees were cut and used for a kind of step. The trail turned sharply to the left after the "stairs".
We have had a log of rain.
Dan was looking for a "Man Cave" for when they go snowshoeing. This looks like a mini-man cave.
