Looking south towards Mt Meeker.
Looking North toward the burn area.
More burn area - growing back.
Even the flowers are growing.
This part of the trail was in the sun but you could see forever.
Still going west heading toward (from left to right) Mount Copeland, Ouzel Peak and Isolation Peak.
Tanima Peak (with all the trees) is between me and Boulder-Grand Pass - where Dan and Kurt were hiking.
That tree covered hill with the double peaks was to the north of me, but to the south of Dan and Kurt.
Flowers as big as a tree.
Indian Paint Brush.
More Indian Paint Brush.
Still heading west.
Still heading west thru a small forested area.
Back into the sunshine.
To the boulder fields...
The stream is coming under that pine tree. There is a little waterfall under the lower right branch.
Heading into the woods.
An avalanche area. this is looking down at the ground.
Yes - that is snow. I bushwacked thru this area until I looked back and couldn't tell where I came from. Uh... time to turn around.
There were no people up there at 10 am - just me and the silence and the listening for bears.
It was beautiful...
I believe this is the stream that leaves Bluebird Lake - or it could be snow melt....
Maybe my favorite...
This is after I turned around and started heading back east. That is the burn area on the far hill.
